REEL YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL
The Reel Youth Film Festival empowers young artists to express their creativity, entertain audiences, and share their visions for a more just and sustainable world. The festival is a model for community engagement, a celebration of youth culture, and a showcase for the richness and diversity of a new generation of film makers.
The festival screens short films made by young people under 20, and tours in partnership with youth media organizations, high schools, community groups and other established film festivals. The festival tour kicks off at the Vancouver International Film Festival and goes on to tour in partnership with screening partners across Canada and around the world.

The festival showcases a wide variety of films that are submitted from youth film making organizations, school film classes, and independent youth film makers.
The proceeds from each screenings acts as a fundraiser for the local screening partners and audience votes decide the overall festival winners.
A youth jury selects submissions based on entertainment value, technical merit (production and post production quality) and the messages they portray. Up to twenty five percent local content is chosen for each screening.
The collection has been rated G by Consumer Protection BC.
