REEL YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL
The Reel Youth Film Festival empowers young artists to express their creativity, entertain audiences, and share their visions for a more just and sustainable world. The festival is a model for community engagement, a celebration of youth culture, and a showcase for the richness and diversity of a new generation of film makers.
Screening short films by young people under 20, the festival tours in partnership with youth media organizations, high schools, community groups and other established film festivals. It kicks off at the Vancouver International Film Festival and goes on to tour in partnership with screening partners across Canada and around the world.

The Reel Youth Film Festival showcases an exciting assortment of youth made films from around the world. Our submissions come from film making organizations, school film classes, and independent film makers from big cities, tiny remote communities and all continents.
Proceeds from each screening raise funds for the local screening partner and their audience votes combine with other screenings to determine the annual festival winners.
A youth jury chooses the touring films based on entertainment value, technical merit (production and post production quality) and the message they portray, from over 300 festival submissions annually. Up to twenty-five percent of each screening showcases films from the local community.
The collection has been rated PG by Consumer Protection BC.
