           ST. JOHN's YOUTH & VETERANS
                        FILM PROGRAM

Do you have an interest in film and passion for social
change?

Have you always wanted to get behind a camera,
or would like to take your filmmaking skills to the next
level?

If you are nodding yes, then this program is for you!

The Youth & Veterans Film Program is a unique
filmmaking workshop that will bring youth and military
veterans together in a creative collaboration
to
produce short films. In this program, you will work
with a
small group to create films that explore the fascinating

and un-told stories of 5 veterans in your community.

In this program you will:

• Learn how to plan, shoot, and edit a short film
• Work creatively with a small group of peers
• Help tell the stories of veterans in your community
• Have a ridiculous amount of fun!

Ten young people (12-17 yrs old) will be chosen to
participate in this project.
We are looking for youth
who are excited about filmmaking and interested in
exploring film as a tool for social change. We welcome any level of experience! The
films are a gift to the whole community, and a powerful way to support the legacy of the Canadian Armed Forces. A public screening of the films will be held for the military and extended military community, and the films will also be submitted to the Reel Youth Film Festival, and distributed on YouTube and the Reel Youth website

This is a 5-day program. The dates are:  August 13-17   ~  10am – 4pm each day

Location: Military Family Resource Centre (145 Churchill Ave, St. John's, NL A1A 0N9)
Cost: $100 for military families, or $125 for extended military families.
