FRESH ROOTS SCHOOLYARD MARKET GARDENS
In the spring of 2013, Reel Youth worked with students at Van Tech Secondary School to make these films about urban farms and the market garden at their school. The films are part of Fresh Roots' Schoolyard Market Garden Project, which provides outdoor, hands-on classrooms; engages neighborhoods in addressing food sovereignty, community health; and offers skills development and fresh food. This project was supported by the Vancouver School Board, VanCity, and Van Tech Secondary School.
