Remember This was a virtual film program, catalyzed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting social distancing and isolation. Participants from ages 8 to 64 and from across British Columbia gathered with Reel Youth facilitators over Zoom to create community through the media arts. The program participants were introduced to principles of filmmaking as a tool for social change, and practiced video production skills by shooting an original short film that captured their lives in isolation and their changing relationship to the land they live on. These are their creations:

In our work we strive to embody what we hope to see in the world—a just humanity and community in which people are free to be themselves fully and without fear. A community where no one is exiled or silenced because of gender, gender expression, race, color, ethnic or national origin, religion, sexual/affectional orientation, age, class, physical character or disability. We believe in the power of storytelling to make connections across difference.
