Together Apart was our first virtual film program, catalyzed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting social distancing and isolation. Participants from ages 9 to 74 and from across Canada gathered with Reel Youth facilitators over Zoom to create community through the media arts. They were introduced to principles of filmmaking as a tool for social change, and practiced video production skills by shooting an original short film that captured their lives in isolation. These are their creations.
